Dominican Republic finished in the fifth position

 

SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic, June 7, 2007.- The Dominican Republic defeated Panama 25-16, 25-22, 25-23 in the match for the fifth place of the Men’s Volleyball Pan American Cup on Thursday.

 

Both teams played mostly with their reserve players in the match preceding the semi finals encounters.

 

Eduardo Concepcion with 18 points was the best Dominican scorer. Cesar Canario and Felipe Henriquez added 14 and 10 respectively. Domingo Avila with 12 points and Luis Maciao with 8 topped Panama.

 

“We need to keep working hard,” said Juan Carlos Perdomo, the Dominican coach. “We have a group of very talented players who only need more chances of competing internationally on a regular basis.”
